Here's what you need:
Clear and White Melt & Pour Soap
Soap Colors in assorted colors- use only our liquid gel colors. They are non-bleeding and color stable. We used ultramarine blue, neon orange, and neon green (in above photo). These colors were added to clear soap base.
Rubbing Alcohol (put some in a small spray bottle). Helps soap layers to better adhere and removes soap bubbles that occur during pouring.
Fragrance of your choice
Hand-held cheese grater

GETTING STARTED
Step One
Melt soap in microwave or double boiler. Scent and colored soap as usual, then pour into mold cavity. Pour to within 1/4" to 3/8" from top edge of mold.
Step Two
Once a thin skin forms on the soap, position your duck. Push gently on the duck to seat into the soap. Spritz the poured soap (including duck) with rubbing alcohol and finish pouring soap to top edge of mold. The rubbing alcohol helps soap layers to adhere to each other. Don't worry, the smell of the rubbing alcohol will dissipate.
Step Three
Have shaved soap ready to sprinkle on top of the last layer of poured soap. Use a hand-held cheese grater to make the shaved soap. Cut a chunk of soap base and shred just like you would a block of cheese.
Voila! You're done. It's that easy. Just be sure you allow the soap to set up completely before trying to remove from the mold.
